A Grateful Patient Story

Paula Tufts is a grateful patient of Dr. Eric T. Wong

Paul Tufts is Grateful for Dr. Wong

“Build a relationship and make a memory.” Those were the words of comfort Paula Tufts spoke to her two young daughters when her mother was battling a fatal brain tumor—and again a few years later, when her aunt was fighting the same disease. Despite the challenge of watching two family members struggle with aggressive and fatal brain tumors, Paula had the chance to make a few more lasting memories thanks to the care they received from Eric T. Wong, M.D., and his staff at the Brain Tumor Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. “It was absolutely wonderful,” she says. “They could not do enough for us. Their compassion and their sympathy were just really overwhelming to me and my family."

“It is amazing to me, just in that short time span, how they were able to increase my aunt’s survival by almost a year by the progression they made in their treatments. You can’t put a price on research. Anything that can be contributed helps. The research that was done in that short time frame really expanded my aunt’s life for months.”
