Gratefully Fashionable
BIDMC Docs Hit the Bloomingdale’s Runway
![]()
The worlds of Vogue and New England Journal of Medicine collided in June when several BIDMC physicians and hospital leaders traded in their scrubs, plastic gloves and white coats for Armani suits, Jimmy Choo shoes and Versace bags for the first ever Bloomingdale’s and Grateful Nation Model M.D.s fashion show.
The care providers took to the catwalk at the Chestnut Hill Bloomingdale’s June 17 when a special private sale was extended to friends and family of the medical center and a portion of sales benefited BIDMC. When shoppers mentioned the medical center at the register, 10 percent of that sale was designated for BIDMC.
According to preliminary estimates, the first-time event raised more than $3,000 for BIDMC through Grateful Nation, a Development Office program that brings together patients, family, staff and friends in support of the medical center’s mission.
Now these physician models and top hospital leaders who looked great in the latest from Chanel, Hugo Boss and Zegna are counted among the members of Grateful Nation along with hundreds of discerning shoppers who understand the value of supporting the great work in science and advancing patient care at BIDMC.
A special thank you to the most stylish members of Grateful Nation:
