Celebration of Life
Celebration of Life is a full day of celebration, education and kinship for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) cancer community to raise awareness about the battle against cancer. This poignant event also welcomes men and women who receive their care from other hospitals in and around Boston – and beyond.

This year's Celebration will include more than two dozen workshops led by our very own BIDMC faculty and staff as well as other community experts.
Other features include:
- Keynote speech by Bruce Feiler, the New York Times bestselling author of nine books, most recently The Council of Dads
- Panel discussion by cancer survivors
- Display of art, photography, sculpture and crafts created by cancer patients and members of the cancer community
- Book of poems and writings
- Silent auction and raffles
- Opportunities for massage, Reiki treatments and make-up consultations
- Catered breakfast and lunch by Choice Catering & Events
- Entertainment
The Celebration of Life Development and Planning Committees would like to thank everyone who made this past year’s event our most successful to date! As attendees may have noticed, we have partnered with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Grateful Nation program to enable survivors the opportunity to share their stories of perseverance and hope with others touched by cancer. Celebration of Life 2009
Last year's Celebration featured a keynote address by Hester Hill-Schnipper, and an extended lunchtime discussion with cancer survivors hosted by WCVB-TV reporter and breast cancer survivor, Kelley Tuthill.

Also at Celebration of Life was the Grateful Nation Station, where event attendees could have their photo taken with a sign sharing what they are grateful for.
